Do MMF2 projects ever need "cleaning"?

    Hey, folks!

I was wondering... Do MMF2 projects ever need "cleaning" (for lack of a better word)?... For example, often in this screensaver project I'll set up an animation to an Active object, then a few days later change my mind and replace it with a different animation... Knowing that MMF2 doesn't link to external graphic files (like PNG files, and sound files?), they make the size of the MMF2 project and output larger over time.

As one swaps out graphics, sounds, extensions, and other resources for a project, is there ever a need to clean or compress the MMF2 project to rid itself of unused resources? Or does MMF2 do that automatically from the project's "Compression Level" setting?

    Thanks!

    Most appreciatively...

Generally speaking, all unused resources will get removed automatically by MMF2 at edittime and won't take up any space. That includes sounds, musics, graphics, code, etc. Sounds for example might not be removed until you save and load your game again, only if all references to them are deleted.

If you really feel curious about if anything is taking up extra room via a glitch somehow, which isn't unheard of, one thing you can do to completely 'refresh' your game, is to copy all objects from the frame editor into a new project and new frame, then copy all events from the event editor, and ideally it should be exactly the same (note: this is an extremely easy way to screw up your project, so back it up before trying it and test it thoroughly afterwards). I did that with one of mine after I got a 'corrupted object' glitch due possibly to hard disk damage.
