    High Scores object -- caching?

The scores.ini file for my game is being stored on our network here at the office. I'm sure this isn't really recommended, but it worked like a charm for the first week or so.

My wife played my game all weekend and her name was on the leaderboard five or six times. Then on Monday someone at work played the game and suddenly the high scores were reset back to where they were Friday morning. All her scores disappeared.

Based on a screenshot I took on Sunday I manually changed the .ini file and everything was great until Monday afternoon, when the scores reset again, this time to late Friday's results.

I'm trying to figure out how this is happening and the only thing that makes sense is that the high scores are being cached locally and then the old scores are overwriting the new scores. (Perhaps someone who played on Friday still had the game running/loaded?)

I assumed the high scores would be loaded, changed, and then re-saved. But the loading doesn't seem to be happening every time...

    Anyone have any insight? Thanks.

I thought the highscores object only stored the scores on the local machine...

You can relocate the .ini file to whatever location you like. I decided to put it on our network at work, thinking that it would be a simple way to do "online" scores. Works great -- except for the scores sometimes resetting.

It probably is caching like you suspect.
