    iOS 4.2 on it's way!

Just got an email from apple, iOS 4.2 is on it's way. Will this interfere with the runtime?

I wouldnt think so, its just MMF just wont know about the new features. Looking at the changes they have primarily just added to the SDK.

If you update your OS, just remember to match your project with your currently installed OS (project / edit project settings / BASE SDK )

True, we can stick with 4.1, unless Apple makes problems to validate the applications.

Any plans to support Game Center?

Why do I have to match the project's OS with the devices? Shouldn't it be backwards compatible?

The new features don't seem to include anything that would affect the app's in any case. It all seems to be OS enhancements rather than app enhancements.

Maybe I'm wrong but there are some iOS not present in "old" devices; for example, can the upcoming iOS 4.2 be installed on an IPhone/IPod Touch 2gen?

Generally it seems Apple uninstalls the old iPhone SDK's whenever you install new ones. Also it doesn't look like you can downgrade your iPhone once you upgrade it.

Apple has some restrictions on their app store, so for example all new apps *must* be targeted to iOS 4.0 at least. As they release updates they increase the minimum requirement.
