    out of frame objects showing.

whenever i make a swf. and play it with my browser or upload the file to the internet and play it it shows things that you shouldn't be able to see. is there a way to fix that?
(iv noticed putting it on a website like kongregate or newgrounds works but im just trying to show my friends)

You just need to embed it in an HTML page and show them that and not send them the raw SWF.

there are some things you can do to cover up the offscreen things but its more work then its worth.

When you use Mochi Live Updates, it works. The MMF made swf has the problems where you can zoom out and see out of frame stuff. I'm assuming this is a similar problem?

EDIT: It's when you zoom in for the zooming problem, because the frame doesn't scale, but the space it's given is growing.

Re: out of frame objects showing.

If i am thinking correctly the problem is if you open the SWF directly in firefox etc it expands the game/app area and shows anything that would normally be hidden from view.

I said about this a long time ago but last time i checked it still happened. A way to fix it is to display a solid frame or expand solid filled actives outwards from the lower and right side to a size that would be bigger than most resolutions. Then you always set it to display over everything else.

This is not efficient though and there should have been a nicer solution for this done already. I noticed this is what other flash/AS3 games do when i tested and at first it looked like the standard firefox white background area but right clicking showed the flash menu so it is still the flash area. Some games use other solid fill colors for this outer frame method also.

Any javascripts found would not actually fix the problem but just display the window differently, if a browser script blocker was run or they saved the SWF the same thing would happen. I remember when i said about this someone had released a javascript that everyone thought fixed it but it only fixes it on the website side of things. There should probably be a tick box option to add a outer frame also with a color picker to set the fill color in the main options though.

Re: out of frame objects showing.

What I did was to create a frontmost layer and put in white rectangle objects that scale to cover up the sides...
When editing, I will just hide the frame so it doesn't disturb the workarea.
I know its not a good solution but it works.
