    MMF2 HWA - Build #250 (Beta)

    Hi everyone,

The beta version of the build #250 of MMF2 HWA is ready :

    MMF2 Standard
    MMF2 Developer
    TGF2

As usual with beta versions, be careful.

Let us know if any problem with this build, thanks !

    Yves.

    Previous version

Bug fixes and new features in this version

    - Data Element Editor : new Effect Files tab.

    - Stand-alone apps : graphic filters are automatically included if the application contains actions to load images as effect parameters.

    - Runtime : when the Change Resolution Mode option was selected, the size of the window was wrong when you switch to windowed mode.

    - as well as all the fixes of the non-HWA version, build #250 beta #3.

Oh heck yes I'd be looking forward to this. Especially the Effects tab on the data elements, that makes multi-person projects so much easier, thanks!

I don't know, one thing i notice now that i did not before is that it shows what shader version etc it is in the main selection list. It guess if not it was something mainly for extension developers though to allow something that could not be done before.

There is still 3 things i would really like to see added. First is a request i said a long time ago now which is in the selection list clicking a folder name expands it also rather than having to click the small + icon. The next is line numbers and code highlighting, i could just use some external tool but it's always nice to direct code as it makes testing nicer. The the last thing is the big request i said a while back of effect stacking which would mean you don't have to edit the code to have multiple effects combined and could just do it simply in the editor. HWA is great now but these things would make it amazing in my opinion.

The current line number is displayed under the preview.

Yes effect stacking would be nice. It's in the wish list, but given the number of things we have to do at the moment I think it will be only for MMF3...

Yeah i know about the current line thing, i was thinking more like to the left of each line like Notepad++ and other editors have.

Xlua has a built in editor that does this with highlighting also so for Lua i always just code in the editor always as it's really nice to work with. If you added code highlighting i would probably just direct code HLSL also then rather than using another editor like i currently do, the line thing is less important but having the line number to the left makes it nicer to code and debug in my opinion.

Ok dont know what it is but it crashes more often now.

I think its when I am working on active objects (painting). It crashed 3 times now (in 2 days). I will try to figure out when exactly Mmf2 crashes.

    best
