Changing Attributes on system & hidden files

I have a question about Install creator, I got it last night and was having no problems with it, I don't know if I changed some setting or if this was even happening last night but today I noticed that when I make an installation and then use it, all of the system files and hidden files are visible and their attributes are changed. Example, desktop.ini

On top of that, the desktop.ini isn't even being read as such anymore. I altered the desktop.ini to give the folders a unique icon. I can change the icon again with an icon changing program but then it makes a new desktop.ini with the proper attributes like the old one isn't there at all.

Does anyone know if this is a setting or something that was changed or how to avoid the attribute change?

Install Creator doesn't preserve the system and hidden attributes (it only preserves the read only attribute). This behavior has never been modified.

If it's all your hidden/system files showing in every folder, it's not install creator, more likely it'll be a Windows setting.
Try going into an explorer window, go on Tools>Folder Options>View tab
and select Hidden files and folders>Do not show.
That's how you do it in XP, just Google if you're using Vista/7.

Re: Changing Attributes on system & hidden files

No, it's not in every folder. Just the folders that have gone through install creator. Also, when I make them show in all folders they're still a little greyed out. They aren't greyed out in the folders that have gone through install creator. Which is what lead me to believe the system file attribute was changed as well as the hidden file attribute.

So it's normal for this to happen? I don't want the people using my program to have a bunch of stuff visible that's supposed to be hidden. I guess I could get rid of the desktop.ini and just remove the hidden files since they go with the desktop.ini which isn't read after going through install creator if I have to but I can't believe it's normal for those files to undergo such a change.

Other than that confusion the install creator is a wonderful program by the way. Simple to use and works very well.

Yes I think, as IC doesn't preserve these attributes, as mentioned above.
