What are your latest events - can you give an example file of the movement? And is this movement now entirely controlled through the events?

(If you haven't already - I admit to only having skimmed the thread...)

    Sure, the movement events are:

IF X position of "Enemy" < X("Player") THEN set X position to X("Enemy")+1

    and the same goes for the other 3 directions (i.e. "> X", "< Y" and "> Y"

    (hope that all makes sense).

I've done up a simple example of what I think you're trying to do - does this help at all?

Note that the enemies have no movement of their own and are controlled entirely through the event list. Their "Fine detection" checkbox is off, so that they don't get awkwardly stuck on the corners of the backdrop.

Thank you, that works a treat!

I find though that the animation on the enemy stops from time to time when the enemy is the other side of the wall from me. I have animation frames on "Stopped" only, have tried copying them on "Bouncing", "Walking" and "Running" but this doesn't solve it. The animation is set to loop at speed 20 if that helps.
