Counters display as Var?

So I was wondering if you can use a counter to display a Var's counter. For example.

A var called ammunition is 10. How can I display that a counter object will display that number. And then when ammunition var is 9, it will do the same for counter.

If it's a global value, you can just enter the name:

Always --> Set Counter to ammunition
