    Zoom Shader without Blur

    G-day,
I'm attempting to use the ComplexSoftware's Zoom shader to add a zoom-in effect at certain places in my game. I'm using the shader on the entire frame. When the frame zooms in the image is blurry, but I'm looking for a crisper, cleaner zoom.

    Refer to the images below:

This is the original screen, with no zoom.

This is a mock-up of the effect I'm looking for.

I looked into customizing the shader itself and after doing a bunch of reading and learning some interesting stuff about creating shaders, I still couldn't find a solution to this.

Does anyone know of another shader that I could use, or how to customize the ComplexSoftware shader?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The Viewport object should do the trick. If you don't have it, use the right link below.

    Re: Zoom Shader without Blur

    SortaCore,

Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to use viewport to achieve the effect I was looking for. However, I would still like to see if it is also possible with the shader, because it would be much easier to implement into my project (3 global events vs placing a viewport object and events into 75 frames). It's good to know I have another option, though.

I agree; it is annoying to have to use a certain method when you are sure there's a more efficent way to do it.
