    Optimisation is a huge part of Flash development.

    I just ran a quick test and the Flash .swf file seems to perform a bit better than 'Standard non-HWA' but nowhere near as well as HWA.

    Optimise for Standard, but don't panic too much until you actually test in Flash. The best way to optimise is to test in Flash itself. If your heart is set on a flash game, I'd recommend getting the exporter as soon as possible. It's easy to go overboard with the power of HWA, but painful to have to reprogram many of the features for optimisation.

    I think he meant that exporting to flash from HWA was faster (the flash app's speed) than exporting to flash from Standard...

    Yeah you're right. Strange that it's different. Could make a big difference to people not using HWA with Flash exporter.

    Yes that's strange, I don't see at all what could cause this... I think that could also depend on programs running in the background, so to compare them stricly you should run them in a browser with nothing else open in the background, even MMF.

    Being that HWA + Flash aren't compatible, I was wondering, what does the exporter do when the user tries building to Direct3D? Does it export as DirectX?

    OK I am a bit confused, I get this setting when I go to flash settings.



    Not that I disbelieve that flash does not use HWA but what does this setting do in flash then and how are they different?

    This is a Flash option, not a MMF2 option. If you uncheck it I suppose the Flash player will use a non-accelerated graphic mode instead of using hardware accelerated graphics (similar to the Standard graphic mode of MMF2).
