Some newbie questions yet again!

I was looking for a way to be able to make an Eastern style (Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, etc) RPG but I had a few questions about how it would work.

From what I understand about frames, I can't possibly see a way to do cut away battles without having to prescript every single one. Is there something I am missing? And would Games Factory 2 be a bad choice for an RPG (I personally do not like RPG Maker, it was extremely overly complicated and confusing!)

While it would probably be easier in MMF due to the extensions available, I imagine it would be quite possible to do some manner of RPG in Games Factory 2. You could use only one frame for cut-away battles, and use the global values to decide what enemies, party members and so on to use in each one.

However, with the size and complexity of this type of game, I would definitely recommend that a beginner to it should try to make something simpler first, to get used to the enviroment and what it can do. This is especially true if you're coming at it after something like RPG Maker, which provides a lot of the game template for you - here, you're building the underlying RPG system yourself.
