I don't think Alternativa is new, it's been around for a while but it's just being updated to use the new Molehill API.

Away3D is another good engine that will also get updated to use Molehill API also as far as i know -

I originally wanted to make a Away3d extension but i am just using regular AS3 again now for this type of thing. I imagine the normal SDK is a lot better but EDIF (AS3 bit) is not so great to be honest, it's being ignored and has no basic documentation still even though it's been out for ages.

Well, the graphics shown in the video use Flash 11's new hardware-acceleration feature and it's not out yet.

It's not out yet no, "We expect to offer a public beta in the first half of 2011".

The name could change also, i saw this and other videos a while back so it's old news by now also i guess hehe.

The car tech demos are really cool but even better things will be made, i guess it's adobes way of saying it is not going to be replaced by HTML5 anytime soon. Although with HTML5 there is now WebGL and a load of new 3D javascript library's so it's getting better also.
