Dealing with Lag Caused by Sample Loading?

I'm helping a friend out with an autobiographical game he's making. The game follows various interactions he has with an insane music teacher on a daily basis. He asked me for a small "Trumpet Hero" mini-game. Since he's relatively new to MMF2, I tried keeping it simple.

The problem I seem to be having is that the music is not always in sync with the notes. I'm guessing this is because it takes a moment to load the music. Can anyone think of a way of eliminating this lag?

Here's a link to the .MFA file.

Luckily, it's already fully commented because I was making this with the intent that someone else would have to read and understand my code.

That's very fast gameplay for me, I couldn't get passed a few notes!! Regarding the sound lag, I don't experience it here, when I hit the keys needed, the sound plays fine.

Haha I've never been good at gauging difficulty. For future reference to anyone else trying to help: you can set the "Mr. E's Anger-Meter" counter's maximum value as high as you want for an easier game.

But it's good to hear that it works for you on your first try. I honestly didn't think it would. Just to clarify, what I meant by "lag" is that the music is offset from the notes. Yes, the trumpet started playing when you hit the notes, but did they line up with the notes you heard?

Sorry if I'm not making sense.

I just tried it again and yes, the sounds seem fine to me, when I hit a key, the sounds play. I don't see any lag here.

Ya it usually works the second time. I guess that means a good solution would just be to load the music once sometime earlier in the application. Thanks for your help!
