how to play other then midi?

I try to play music in my game but the only file it seems to allow is midi? How can i allow mmf to allow for example mp3s?

Also you will need to convert to either .WAV or .OGG formats. .WAV files are pretty hefty tho, so you would be better off to convert the music files to .OGG files.

If not whats the best program to convert? I tried one program, but that made the track have small "hickups" from time to time after i made it ogg

just convert mp3 to ogg. Seriously they are pretty much the same, ogg just is completly free. Use audacity (its free)

I personally havent used Audacity, but you could also try CoolEditPro (if its still around and its still free), but if not try Goldwave. Its not a freebie, i have the full version and it is a wonderful audio program. i use it to record all my tunes with, and yes, it converts to .ogg. using Goldwave you can open up your mp3 file, click Save As and change the file to to .OGG. and redsquirrel is right, there is basically no difference between mp3's and ogg files. :cool:

audacity is pretty much all you need
if you know what you are doing, you can even convert your midi files to .ogg too while you're at it, which I'd recommend. Mind, midi files are not actual sound descriptions but rather instrument tracks (recording vs sheet music), so the only way to convert those is to just play the song and hook your output into your input.

in general you'll want to avoid both midis and mp3 files, use ogg
