    frames per second

hi i am testing my first swf flash game.

    Application settings: 70 fps.

however when i run the swf file it shows 58 - 62 FPS, mostly 58 is displayed.

If i run the mfa 68 - 71 FPS, mostly 71 is displayed.

mind you i have five enemys each with a line of sight, basic active shooting to see the player, all of this is being carried out in a test frame with 3 obstacles.

The LOS wont respond unless the player is close enough and destroyed when it hits an obstacle or the player.

Within this testing area all of the enemies have los as they are close enough.

I just do not understand why there is a difference and what i should do.

Maybe you could explane or offer a suggestion to help?

    regards willow

    Re: frames per second

Flash is sometimes wierd when it comes to fps. I set it to 50, and it runs at 35 for example. Try to increase the fps until you reach 70 on Flash.

    Re: frames per second

I was under the impression the browser caps it to 30-ish? If I have a SWF (Flash built) and drop it into a browser, it always gets capped to around 32fps, but if I run it in Flash player it runs full speed. I always make my MMF Flash games run at 30fps to make sure everything works okay, but if there is a way to force a higher frame rate reliably, that'd be very interesting.
