    Flash Error

    Hello, I have someone reporting that they are getting an error when they load my game, then nothing happens and they get a blank screen.
    This is what they said the error is:

    I've noticed things like this when I tried running the game on the school computers, so I assumed that the problem was an old version of Flash or something. Can anyone confirm what this problem is, if it's MMF2's fault, and if there's anything I can do?

    This looks like a Mochi error. Are you using the Mochi object or Mochi preloader?

    Yes I'm using Live Updates with an ad preloader and Analytics (so then I have Mochi Connector in there as well).

    The person who had this problem has Flash 10.1.102.64 if that helps.... I'm on Flash 10.2 and it works for me.

    I've also had problems on school computers loading apps that use EDIF extensions. I use them in this game as well, but the error is saying things about Mochi.

    EDIT: Interesting, I have another flash game that he was able to view, it uses EDIF extensions and Mochi as well. This is very strange.

    This has been a problem for me for ages. I had to turn off LiveUpdates.

    Yes, we have corrected a bug in the last version with Mochi Live Update. It works now, but you cannot use in a Mochi enhanced live update game true control objects created by StephenL. All the other objects work.

    I'm confused what you mean.
    Live Updates works with the latest SWF Exporter? I have been avoiding updating it because of the reports that Live Updates don't work with it.
    And what are the true control objects created by StephenL?

    Yes, Lives updates works witht he latest version. You should not avoid patches.

    Thanks! I'll update now! I only avoided it because it was reported to not work with Live Updates and I rely on using them.

    The latest version, Update #2 is causing many bugs, including the inability to create Vectors in my EDIF extension (rendering the extensions I created and need useless), quickbackdrops are not being placed correctly, and animation is not working properly.

    May I have a link to the installer to Update #1 so I can downgrade?

    Could you send Francois simple MFA examples that show the problems you are talking about? If there are problems he'll fix them and either he'll send you fixed files or we'll release a beta version of the next build.

    To avoid this kind of situation, I suggest that you test the beta versions we post. We usually try to fix quickly the bugs that are reported in beta versions (and if any major issue you can switch back to the previous version while the beta is tested). That's much more difficult to do after the final version has been released.
