Use a program to slice the sprite sheet into separate files for each frame, and import them into an active object.

create an active object, double click on it to go into the editor built into MMF, after that go to Import in the upper left, find the sprite sheet you want to import, then after that Under Image Mode Options, check Import Selection. Then hit the now enabled Select button. draw a box around the frame from the sprite sheet you want to import then hit OK

make a new frame then repeat the process until you have all the differnt animation poses from the sheet.

Yeah there's no automatic method. However, if you have separate animations as separate files and name them in numerical order, you can import them all at once. For instance, Run1, Run2, Run3, etc.

    Re: Sprite Sheet in MMF2?

You could write an "automated" method pretty easily if all your sprite sheets are in the same format. You can just use a text blitter with specific borders/sizes/etc for the characters, then iterate through and export each one as a frame of the animation

What ever happened to using the Active Picture Object to crop the image to a specific frame? Sprite sheets can be used directly!

That's pretty cool. I never use sprite sheets, but that's good to know.

I like to use pivot or stykz to make animations.

Last time I checked you can't get an active picture to display only a part of an image. It's why the Animated Picture object was created.

I guess I misunderstood how your editor worked, Nifflas:

I see now that it creates and delete backdrops, where I thought it was making and cropping active picture objects. Silly me
