make objects move away from eachother

hello fellow game creators.

i want to make two objects "not like eachother" when they collide. in other words move away from eachother when they are overlapping eachother. ive created a temporary solution that is only barley working. ive created 4 different movements for each object. 1 for left movment, 1 for right, 1 for up, 1 for down. so when two objects collide from top and bottom they go in the opposite direction. but there must be a better and easier way to make objects pull away from eachother?

It depends on what type of objects you have colliding. could you be more specific?
