    Bouncing ball collisions

Greetings click community, I'm new to the forums but have been using clickteam products for years now, (although I only recently upgraded to mmf2).

I had a question regarding the bouncing ball movement. It seems that whenever I "create" the object inside the play area with the bouncing ball movement, its collisions with other active objects do not work correctly. If the object is "positioned" inside the play area then the collisions work. Is there any reason for this or am I perhaps missing something?

Also I had noticed the "Get Angle" event which could pave the way for coding a custom bouncing ball movement. Does anyone know if any have been created? I did a quick search on the forums but didn't find anything.

Ultimately I am trying to get a bouncing ball movement to rebound off a "window" edge instead of the play area edges. The events I have used to do it including "object getting close to windows edges" and "returning the X and Y cordinates of the various edges" don't appear to be working. The object simply passes through without rebounding.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks for you help everyone

    1. No idea, that doesn't make sense.
    2. Yes, unfortunately I can never find SEELE's example, mojofltr's movement is part of an incomplete game, and I can't find Nifflas' movement EDIT: found it: http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=211442
It's a difficult task to undertake especially since you have to be able to detect the angle of the surface the ball hit, etc.
    3. You can have an object that outlines the window edge and set it to not follow the frame so it stays with the window. Then you could check for collisions on that.
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

Uh huh, seemed odd to me, so either its a bug or I'm missing something.

Thank-you for this, I'll look into it.

Yes I tried this but, like I said, when created rather than moved the balls collisions don't appear to be working.

Thank-you for the help (you too Nifflas). Time to tackle this a different way then .

With my widget it should still work, though you have to wrap it into a "foreach" for it to work with multiple objects.
