    diagonal platform movement without PMO

    So I made platform movement from scratch before realizing there was the PMO.

    Now I need diagonal movement. How do I make it without using the PMO?

    Try the Basic Movement Widgets or Platform Widget here. I recommend the basic movement widget firts since it's newer and done better, but the other one have some more features.

    That seems really nice. But how can I make this so that the character can collide with actives? (I plan on making moving platforms for my game).

    I'm not really good with moving platforms. When you compare if two objects are overlapping, the second object will during testing have the position and collision mask of the last rendered frame, not taking changes during the last event loop into account.

    I always work with pixel precision, setting up the best and most logical solutions. When those solutions can not work, I'm not that good at figuring out alternative ways. There are people who have skills with designing things to work in more quirky environments though, so perhaps someone can help you.

    I once tried to set up a set of widgets that would provide easy movements including moving platforms, but I was prevented by the overlap problem and gave up.
