Set reminder? & other questions before purchase

Hi, another quick question is weather i could set a reminder of some sort, so on a certain day or when the app is running it would notify the user of the reminder?

    I suppose push notifications.

Also, does it have any of the IOS standard graphic controls, such as the bottom tabs, scrolling selection boxes ETC?

And can you access RSS feeds?

    Thanks
    Andy

No push notifications yet, and no access to RSS feeds. Sorry.
You have the list box (cant remember the iOS name) and the button object as controls.

Sorry for the thread hijack here, but do you know if/when there will be any standard iOS controls (cover flow, tabs etc)?

Edit: also, do the check-boxes turn into those nice on/off switches, and is there a function to change the colour of those (ie from the default blue to the orange, for example, as seen in the airplane mode toggle)?

I too am put off by the non standard iOS controls, im still unsure of controls like the list box?

Theres no screenshots or videos to how mmf list boxes and other controls look in iOS, are they nice iOS style list boxes where you can flick the screena nd they will scroll up and down smoothly (like all iphone apps) or are they a replication of the windows stile list box on iphone?

    Thanks
    Andy

Re: Set reminder? & other questions before purchase

    Just a few points:

    1. There's no Cover-Flow option even when using XCode directly in Obj-C, you have to reproduce it yourself! I've read blogs of people having written their own versions only for Apple to reject their app because they think they're using these Private API calls. They've then had to point this out to Apple and resubmit.

    2. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the Q&A Object became an Alert and the List box became a proper iOS Picker View like this:

But I also see a lot of professional looking apps/games that make their own style versions of control widgets to fit with the theme of their app, eg doodle style, horror style, etc. See how many iOS interface style objects you can spot in Angry Birds for example?

The standard UIKit objects aren't that customizable graphically, so you're not missing that much. To even make a standard looking button you can re-use at different sizes requires a fair bit of Obj-C coding or make your own in a graphics program, other wise you just get a white button with black outline that's pretty disappointing.

So don't let the lack of features put you off, you can still do a heck of a lot with this iOS exporter that takes much longer in Obj-C

Re: Set reminder? & other questions before purchase

Thanks for that, i see how it integrates them now.

    Last few questions then:

For instance the list box shown above, is there condition for "item clicked"?

The app i have in mind is sort of an offline app that shows certain data which it would be initially packaged with but also checks when requested for "updates" to see if there any more data to be shown, this would come from a mysql database, so use of the GET object which is fine but can any new data, then be stored for offline use? Can the "ini" file increase in size at runtime?

    Thanks
    Andy
