    Stochastic Utility 1.2

    This extension does some various operations I often need in my games. Mostly mathematical stuff. This version uses a newer version of EDIF, so it doesn't crash the Unicode version of MMF2.

    The source is available.

    Just to clear any confusion: This object doesn't appear in Unicode either, you can't use it there. I'm not sure if Jamie, the author if EDIF is aware of that.

    Oh, it doesn't? Well, I guess it's an improvement if it doesn't crash MMF2 at least.

    Digitalic asked for a Flash version of the extension while Nifflas was doing his workshop at CC, so here it is!
    I had to add a little workaround to the C++ source code to make it work because the Flash runtime doesn't natively support file names with spaces. It's in the 'Edif Modification' folder of the source code. The Flash source code is included, too.

    Apart from that, I also updated the example to not use the old and deprecated Nifflas Object for some things, which Nifflas himself must have forgotten about.

    Hey! It's really cool that there's a Flash version of the extension now. About the workaround, how come the Flash version doesn't work with space bars in extension file names by default? Space bars in filenames seems to be like a standard thing to use, is it a flash or MMF2 limitation?

    It's embarrasing that I forgot to remove the Nifflas object. I don't know if I was comparing Stochastic Utility to the Nifflas object or something, it's odd that I put it there in the first place.

    Would somebody please build Stochastic Utility with the latest version of EDIF and post it here, please?

    I'm in a totally panicy situation where I'm having a deadline today and a bug with the extension caused by an old version of the SDK (crashes the app if placed in a sub-app with built executables only), and no access to VC++ which I need to fix this.

    Oh man, that took quite a while. The new Edif has a different JSON parser which doesn't allow comments and requires commas everywhere etc., so I had to keep updating the JSON until it loaded fine. My Edif patch that I added in the last version is still necessary for Flash.

    I've updated the extension so that it doesn't rely on external files, the json and png are now embedded. Hope it fixes your problem.

    Uhm, please remove the .json and .png file from the Data/Runtime folder. That really shouldn't happen - I got that error with the old JSON file but I fixed it now.
