    GAH.! Help...! Bad file.

I have an mfa that I have been working on - for like HOURS. Fortunately it is mostly building graphics getting ready for a game but... when I try to open it...... "Unknown Format!" = Failed.

I wonder if you have time to try and open it? My other files work OK. I have tried grabbing objects 'From File' but with the same result. I wonder if this needs someone with 'reverse engineering' or some such capability? Or, I just suck the egg and start over

I tried it and it doesn't work on my computer either. Looks like your file is corrupted.

If it turns out it's corrupted, check for files ending .001, .002, etc. in the folder with your MFA - if the autobackup is turned on (and it is by default in later versions of MMF2), then you might be able to open one of those and recover some things.

How could one achieve corrupting an .mfa file? I've never had that happen in MMF2, but I'd be glad to know the risks.

Many thanks for the prompt replies and for downloading/testing.

I manually save - ie. auto b'up OFF

Good question. I have never had this happen before.

Oh well, unless someone can hack into it - back to the drawing board. Fortunately I have the basic art work separately.

Yeah, arfa. Back to the drawing board. Maybe turn on auto backup. Corrupting a mfa file remains a mystery from ancient times.
