    Active object for playing animation

As I'm using the Flash Exporter, my choice of objects is somewhat limited. I need to play a gif animation within a non-moving frame. There are no collision issues. The gif animation is to play once and stop. Can someone please explain how to use the Active object to do this? Thanks.

If it's just one animation, go to the Insert New Object dialog and click 'Open from File'. Navigate to your gif file, select it, and import as an active. You can then modify it as you would any other active object, including changing animation speed and loop settings.

Protip: Sometimes the animation editor displays the wrong animation speed when you play the animation. It works fine when you run the actual app, though.

Re: Active object for playing animation

Thanks to Jacob, I have an animation available on my page. I have unchecked "Visible at start. In a button clicked event, I have set "Reappear" in the Active Object and then "Start". When I run the frame, the gif becomes visible, but the animation does not run - the first frame just sits there. What have I missed? Thanks.
