    MP3 seamless looping

Apparently seamless MP3 looping is something hard to achieve, it's not natively supported in AS3. It affects MP3 files in general, so it's not a problem inherent to MMF-made SWF applications.

I don't know much about the subject, but after some research I found out that the problems lies in how the LAME MP3 Encoder treats the MP3 files. I stumbled accross an article which describes a solution. And I thought that maybe Clickteam could take a look at it, as we MMF users have no control over the encoder:

This article is linked from that thread at the Mochi forums. Some developers using AS3 seem to have solved this problem a long time ago:

Yes I know the reason of this problem. Not sure if we'll have time to implement a solution soon. The best thing we can do shortly is to add a MP3 filter to the SWF exporter so that you can use your own MP3 files instead of using MP3 sounds automatically created with Lame.

Thank you for considering this request Yves. I'd be glad to test the filter to see if it is an efficient solution.

    Re: MP3 seamless looping

I haven't read that document, but I made this very basic example to combat that problem http://www.outlawstar.co.uk/files/quiztest.html - which I ended up using in this which doesn't serve any purpose right now (just a test title screen)... :P http://www.outlawstar.co.uk/files/OLS%20Quiz.html

However, now my computer has high RAM usage it doesn't seem to work at all. And some people have reported it as working fine, some not too well, so I think it's highly dependent on system resources. As you can tell it's meant to work by playing the next part of the loop or the same loop on a different channel a certain number of milliseconds before it ends. Because of the MP3 delay this worked to some extent, but was inefficient. Better than nothing though!

If you get proper MP3 looping support working I'd be extremely grateful.
