Question about stop/end quit a game

How do I stop/end a game in android. There's no esc key or something. Do I have to create a press here to end/stop or quit the game? Normaly I program press esc or another key to end.

    Thanks,
    Ineke

Yes. It would be silly to program functions to a button that does not exist

Well, if you have an actual qwert..-keyboard on the phone, I suppose it might work, but I really have no clue...

As far as I've seen with the Galaxy Tab there's no actual program closing. Once you load something it never unloads from the device unless you specifically kill it.

That said, I've seen most games like Angry Birds and others use the <-- button of the device to quit.

When I use the <-- and look in the settings -> apps it's still in memory. So I have to make a quit button to push for ending or stop the app.

That's how the operating system works. (I was surprised myself.) Every app opened in the current OS session will stay there unless you specifically kill it. I've had programs, like Angry Birds Seasons stay in memory even through OS sessions, effectively being in memory when I've not even opened them.

Re: Question about stop/end quit a game

I too thought it was weird when I started using Android. It can be a serious killer on battery life. I always now, when I reboot my phone or after using a program, kill off all unnecessary processes.

I've tried a few things in MMF like you have ineke, to no avail. I think it is just something the operating system does that we have no control over, as users or developers, that we should have. I wonder, however, if Honeycomb is any different? I've only got up to 2.2.1. Any Honeycomb users here that could give input on this?
