    Request: Preloader Wait

    Hello,

I'd like to propose an idea for Flash .mfa preloaders (for MMF2 Developer) to allow the developer to say when to move on from the preloader.
In a lot of games the preloader is set to stay on for at least 5 or 8 or 10 seconds. With MMF2 this isn't possible. Also not possible with MMF2, a button "Play!" that appears at the end of a preloader.
Something else that I have had problems with my sponsor with; CPM Star ads for the preloader. They can only appear during my 5 second forced splash screen, not during the actual preloader, or the user will see 2 different CPMStar ads.
For a lot of reasons, the ability to delay the preloader from moving onto the next frame is something that should definitely be added.

And of course we don't want to mess up old applications or cause problems with new users, so I wanted to suggest 2 actions:

Disallow - call this action at the start of the frame to tell the preloader that when it is done, it isn't allowed to move on

Allow - call this when the user has hit the "Play!" button or the time required has run out or whatever you want that will cause the preloader to end and move to the game frame.

Basically toggling a single flag that is by default set to Allow.
This shouldn't cause any problems at all, and I can't imagine it would be difficult to implement.

Does anyone else agree with me on this request? I'd really like to see this happen sometime soon, as without it, it's very hard to get sponsor preloaders working properly.

    Re: Request: Preloader Wait

    This sounds about right Thanks!
Still, my suggestion seems like it should be implemented into MMF2, but of course your extension will probably overthrow mmf2-made preloaders.

EDIT: oh it's not an extension. So will there be anywhere to add AS3 code as mmf2 extensions won't be supported? For example, CPMStar Ads.
In this case, my request is still valid.

I think this is a very valid feature request. If it's relatively easy to add to MMF2 as a built-in integrated feature, in my opinion that should be prioritized.

Yes, you can add CPMStar or other.. with a "extra"-extension to do this!
