Assistance with Surface Object

I've been having some issues figuring out exactly how I should go about doing this. Basically, I want to load a large PNG image with alpha transparency, then crop 16x16 of it and save it as another file and repeat that as many times as needed.

I'm using two surface objects for this, but I'm having trouble clearing the 16x16 surface after each blit. I don't fully understand how alpha channels work with this object, but it won't blit the alpha at all unless I set it 'Compose Alpha.' But when I do that, it always crops 15x15 of the image for some reason.

Am I going about this wrong? How should I fix this.

Hi, that's an interesting bug it seems. Please send me an MFA. However it doesn't sound like you need alpha composition. If I can see your MFA I'll try to find an easier way to do this.

I should mention that although the dimensions of the actual images are 16x16, the blit itself is only 15x15.
