    Loosing Focus

When a new frame is started or the current frame is restarted it looses the focus requiring the player to click on the frame before they can play the game. This does not happen when testing it inside MMF2 but only when running the compiled .swf or accessing the .swf file from a web page.

    I am using build r251 MMF2 Developer.

    Re: Loosing Focus

Upon further experimentation I have discovered it depends on if an object (being controlled by the player using 8 directional movement) was moving when the previous frame was ended. If the object was not moving when the frame is restarted (or a new frame started) the frame looses focus.

    Re: Loosing Focus

If anyone wants to see an example go to:

    http://www.bluefiregames.com/arcadeGames/bugEscape.html

Start the tutorial or hit the play game button. When starting the tutorial or the game the player needs to re-click on the game to reset the focus.

I am using Fire Fox 7.0.1

    Re: Loosing Focus

I have found a work around for this by displaying a difficulty selection screen (with three buttons) when the tutorial and the regular game are first started. This selection screen requires the player to select the difficulty level before the tutorial or the game starts and making that selection resets the focus to the game.

Not the ideal solution but it works.
