    Character ASCII value?

Is it possible to convert a single character to it's ASCII value? Preferable without using an extension object.

String Parser (it's an extension, but it comes with MMF2 and works across all runtimes):

    Code:
    asc("String Parser", "a")

This retrieves the ASCII value as a value right? Any reason why I can't set a string to this:

    Val(asc( "String Parser", "a"))

It says "Mixed strings and numbers."???

It retrieves it as a value. Val() converts a string to a value.

    Did you mean Str$(asc("String Parser", "a")) ?
