Chrono Pause on app to the background

Is there any way to pause the Chrono (Date and Time) when you put the app in the background?

The iOS object has a "Application has been deactivated" event. You should be able to pause your Chrono in that event and then resume it when it is reactivated. Just make sure to store some flag somewhere that the chrono was actually running when the app was deactivated (otherwise the chrono will start running every time the app is activated even though the chrono wasn't running when it was deactivated).
