    water surface effect

    Hi folks,

does anyone know how to create an effect like this when Mario jumps in and out the water? It looks like some physics effect and no animation.

i'm not sure what you mean. if you mean the spurting water animation, you can do this with particlesystems of third party programms, like particle illusion or 3ds max.

You can do this with a bunch of vertical lines of actives moving up and down based on a formula and their position. With MMF2's build in action loops (not fast loops) this is quite fast on a frame-by-frame scale. I can make a quick example if need be...

LB. This would be a great example to preserve on my website for future Cleakteam product users.

    Water Ripple Effect Example

OK, here you go. It's not perfect but it does look nice. Eventually I *might* make a more advanced one where the splashes don't follow the player, but we'll see.

haha, not bad. It's kind of amusing to change direction in mid-air rapidly and see how the water reacts!
