Question How can I turn an executable into a Web service?

    Hey, folks!

How can I turn an executable into a Windows Web service? I have the need to create a Web service from a non-MMF2 executable. Can this be done?

    Thanks for your help!

I'm not entirely sure what your needs are, but I just made this example for someone else. Is there a way you can use this? I'm not sure what you meant in your post...

    Hey, LB!

Well, here's a short version of what I'm trying to do... I'm trying to use MMF2 to create a custom installer for our in-house application, largely because our former developer has left the company, and I think it would be a great challenge for me to do using MMF2 (if possible). As I research whether this is possible, I have used Debug View to get an idea of what our current installer does, then am researching whether I can achieve this using MMF2 Developer.

Our application uses five Web services. Looking at the Web services, I see that they are executable files which, once installed in the target installation directory, are "somehow" used as Web services--meaning, if you go to Administrative Tools>Services, you can see them listed as services which may be started automatically or manually.

So, I'm trying to figure out whether there is a way using MMF2 Developer to create a Web service from an existing executable.

    Any ideas?

As always, thanks for your efforts to help!

Those aren't webservices as I know them, but yes, that looks like the procedure by which to install an EXE as a Windows service - it should work for any executable.
