    Windows 7 with MMF?

Hi there, I"m thinking of getting a windows 7 Laptop. Is there any issues running MMF on Windows 7? Also is there a major difference between 7 and XP. I love xp. One more question,.with a new laptop and having Windows 7 on it,.is there a way to install windows xp instead of having 7? Say I buy the Windows 7 Laptop and then format the drive and then install Windows XP. Would it work or should I just look for a used laptop with Windows XP already on it?

    Thank you,

    John

Win 7 is excellent and no learning curve really coming from xp. Mmf runs fine. Win 7 is very stable even more so than xp.

Yeah, it wouldn't be a very good decision at all to put XP in instead of Windows 7. Windows 7 is by far the best operating system they've ever come out with.

windows 95 was great for its time... but I guess i am just showing my age.

only problem i have with windows and operating systems atm is they are starting to annualize them or they are just churning them out faster :S either way its too fast IMO

Windows 7 is a vast improvement over XP in every respect. I have 3 Win7 systems (2 desktops and 1 laptop) and even after 1 year, the speed of the system is almost the same as after initial installation. Which is not what I was used to with XP & before. Bootup is very quick, and setting up and managing networks -- one of my biggest chores with Windows before -- is very easy. MMF2 shows no compatibility issues at all. The only drawback is if you want to use your system for music authoring, as MIDI support is next to gone now and it may be hard to set up depending on your setup.

Do you mean it says "Invalid path" when you click File / Open and select a MFA file?

Weird... Maybe the filename contains characters MMF2 cannot recognize correctly? If so, have you tried to rename the files using simple ascii characters?

    Otherwise please post a screenshot.
