What or how does an update of my ios game really updates?

HI!

I'm about to update my game again.

The first time i just screwed up. I just send the files i wanna update and the game didn't wor because of the missing files.


I coded a game of crosswords.

Each puzzle is an INI file and i save to INI files also.

If i wanna add more puzzles (more ini files) and a new app (executable). Should i send all the files again like a completely new build?

Is it gonna replace the existing files? Is it gonna clean all my game on Iphone and replace all the files with the ones i send?

Because if it's gonna replace the save file with a clean one i send, the progress of the players will be lost...


I afraid i'm gonna mess up again.

You can't just send the updated files such as the ini's etc, you have to send a complete new build (which includes the updated ini files).

If you want to avoid this, i'd look into incorporating a system which connects to a database via the Get Object and grabs new puzzles from there.
