GC Leaderboard Questions

1) There is talk in the help file about setting a "category" but i do not see mention of this anywhere in the leaderboard setup area of itunes connect. Has apple changed its terminology recently? Or please show me where to see this, if it is currently still in itunes connect.

2) i have set up a test user that is welcomed into sandbox mode. but i cannot get a score to register. I feel like i am stumbling around in the dark. please can someone write an idiots guide to submitting a score to the game center leaderboard.

Hi!
1) In iTunes connect it's called Leaderboard ID, and it's a name that identifies a particular leaderboard. For example "yourGameEasyLeaderboard".
2) Once you setup the Category property correctly (with the Leaderboard ID of the leaderboard you want to submit the score to) you just use the action "Send local player score" of the GC Leaderboard object. It will ask you as a parameter what to send as score, and probably you want to send "score("Player 1")".

I managed to submit a score with a sandbox user. Game Center says i am ranked #1 of 1 which makes sense, but i cannot see the score I submitted anywhere. seems weird. i want to know what my score was, do i need to force this or have i done something wrong?

This is the default behavior in testing mode. Many other games have been released successfully with leaderboards...

Not seeing my score listed in game center is normal behavior for sandbox mode?

That is very confusing - how am I supposed to know that without asking?

A simple step by step guide in the documentation would be fantastic. Perhaps one of the people who has successfully implemented this could write one. But don't you think this is basic information Clickteam should be providing?

just so we're clear, it won't show any scores during the testing phase, but once it goes live there shouldn't be any issues as long as we are sending the score correctly?
