Don't forget the roast hams you'd find under mailboxes. Mmm!

Haha, yup! In this one he finds meat inside of the breakable blocks, which was a CastleVania reference.
Have removed 'Super' from the title for the sake of avoiding any trouble from Nintendo due to the character's resemblance to Mario's sprite (he looks like Mario's sprite and yet he looks nothing like Mario, pretty interesting stuff huh??), and for the bonus that it puts me towards the beginning of the new releases since they go in alphabetical order.
Super World Adventures and Giana Sisters are still completely safe on the iTunes store, but Super Jump World is down. After some google searches I managed to find threads on development forums with the creator of SJW in them, who actually revealed that he took the game down himself after being e-mailed by Nintendo and was making alterations to put it back up in a 'safer' form. SJW was a complete ripoff though, everything was lifted directly from Mario and the character was pretty much the only thing changed. He still kept his earnings, which erm, well, he had over a million downloads a day for the week it was up...!
As tempting as making a very close clone and making all that money before having it pulled sounds, I want to be professional about this and I have put a lot of love and hard work into this game, it's a 3D Dot Game Heroes style tribute, not a clone, and I hope people see it that way.

Only a few more levels to do and this is ready for submission!
Another couple of screenshots for you guys...
^ An Alien fortress, these are booby-trapped with flamethrowers and always end in...
^ An ugly evil Alien boss!
Hmm I really think this could work. After watching the trailer (excelent song btw!!!)...yea i really think this could work!

That's my bro-in law's band, Beggarman's Beard. I dunno if they have their music available anywhere yet since the one I used in the trailer is from a demo but I'll be sure to keep you up to date!
You guys think I'm safe from Nintendo? I've taken every effort to ensure it's clear that this is a 3D Dot Game Heroes style tribute to classic platform games as opposed to a clone. There are outright clones on the app store still, and this one barely even plays like Mario once you're past the resemblance (no mushrooms, no hitting blocks from underneath, etc.), the sprite strongly resembles Mario's sprite, but the character design it's representing doesn't in any way resemble Mario, so it's an interesting one.

I'm very careful about such things and wouldn't mind in this case. Don't use original names, text, gfx, sfx and level design and everything's fine![]()
JoKa is exactly right. I think Nintendo esp. is very strickt with those kinda things. I would be most carefull with names. But the rest...hmm I dont see that many similaritys. And damn the gameplay has been ripped in the 80s by 2 sisters
@ Beggarman's Beard: Yea! totally cool! I thought its a socalled famous band. I´d love to have more ...hmm lets call it hard blues bands in austria!! Very cool. Please thell them from a musician to musicianswww.saberrider.tk (thats (or was) my band a couple of years ago)

Yeah, I guess Nintendo contacted the Super Jump World guy because he literally took Mario and changed the character, I mean even the level layouts were close.
Really enjoyed your music, and have copied your message onto Beggarman's Beard![]()

Finished levels! Now for a bit of presentation work (credits, menus etc.) and it's ready for submission!![]()

Already in review. Weird, normally it's a week or so before the status changes into 'In Review' but this one was on the same day... Maybe they review different price tiers separately...?
