    Kindle Fire

If anyone has some APK files I would like to test them on the Kindle Fire.
    Screen size 1024x600

That's one of the real nice things -- You can count on millions of units all running the same screen size
Kinda a little bug-a-boo with Android devices all over the map on screen size.

I have tested Chicken Wings on it and it ran pretty well - Not as smoothly as the HTC Flyer but acceptable.
I do believe you would get very nice performance on puzzle and card type of games and I think the market is huge.

So if you have something you want me to test out for you -- I would love to.
I would like to see some Android games on the Amazon market for the Kindle so however I can help with testing I am happy to help.

Hi Jeff, how are you?, I will try to adapt my game "Color Machine" for resolving the Kindle.

I wanted to ask, how is the performance of apps on the device?, Do you think it is profitable to sell apps in the Amazon Store? Have you uploaded any app to Amazon Store?

    Thank you for your answers,

The device is under powered -- so complex games with a lot of fast moving and scrolling will encounter some slow down.
I am sure the devices will get better as future models are produced.

If you wanted to make a puzzle, word or more of a thinking type of game these devices I see no reason why MMF couldn't be an awesome tool to access the millions of units and sell your app thru the Amazon store.

So not every game you can make for iOS could port easily to the Kindle Fire right now -- It has a lot less power.
But I still believe the captive market of the kindle will lend itself to sales for developers who take the time to design a game that can work under its hardware limitations.

Thanks Jeff, for clearing my doubts and like you, I think we need to explore different markets, the Amazon store is selected and restricted, not as strong as Apple but less relaxed than the Android Market. You know how many Kindle Fire were sold?

    6 million or so.

Its rumored Kindle Fire 2 will be out soon and we should see other manufacturers start making the devices and hooking into Amazon's app store and built in content delivery system. There is also a rumor there will be a sale on Kindle Fire down to $100 coming sometime in the next few months.

Wao Jeff is an excellent base installed! and if they lower the price to $ 100 that's going to grow much.

You convinced me, I'll buy one and start testing and upload my apps to Amazon Store!

Just remember this first generation of devices for Kindle Fire are not overly powerful.
So a lot of moving objects and scrolling playfields don't work out as smoothly as they do on full power Android devices.

But I do think some puzzle or casual games would work great and be attractive to Kindle Fire owners.

Sure Jeff, I think apps like "Color Machine" should work. What games have you been running successfully in the Kindle?

I may be grabbing a Kindle Fire soon as well, I'll have to import or wait, but I think the Amazon store holds a lot more promise for sales than the Android Market - Kindle Fire has been phenomenally successful in the US and should see the same success around the rest of the world, and the system is locked down meaning less piracy (you can still side-load apps but kindle users are less likely to do so than power users and gadget geeks) and the store has much less competition.

Jeff, you still able to test .APKs on a KF?

    Hi Jeff,

Following your advice I just upload my app "Color Machine" to the Amazon Store, I wanted to ask, how much take the review process to the air app?
