    Strange Change Framerate Problem

The frame rate is fine at 50 FPS until I tell it to set the frame rate to 50FPS which it then slows down horribly.

Do not use the debugger to measure framerate. Close it completely, and set a counter to the framerate on screen. The debugger, when open, chews on your framerate.

Corlen. As LB said. Just in case you are not sure about how to do this, I have an example on my website.

I checked the frame rate and it's still around 30FPS with the debugger closed when I tell it to go to 50.

One thing you should check. See if there is an object creating that you are not seeing or an event that is doing something it shouldn't be doing. Or post the mfa and let us test it.

Here is the MFA. I tried process of elimination by deleting all the objects I could as I went, but it appears to have not much of an effect.

The frame rate change event is under the group "Sprite Flicker and Slow Down Emulation"

I tested it and I just want to know why you have this 1 event? See picture. What I did was add never for testing to the event and the frame rate jumped to 50 and remained 50. That's the bad event. Delete it and the game should run the way it should.

Because I'm trying to emulate the game slowing down when too many sprites are on the screen at once like an NES game, partly to keep myself aware of the limits the NES had, and I need to to set the frame rate back to 50 when the counter is below a certain point.

Dunno, maybe it's my netbook is too slow? I added a few more conditions and it seems to work just fine, albeit now it makes no logical sense to me but I guess as long as it works...
