Best source of information for new iOS developer

Hello,

I was wondering if there is one place I can go to get all my ducks in a row for iOS dev. I don't mind sounding stupid, that's easy, so here goes... As I understand it I need the export module, a Mac, and an account with Apple.

Is there a way to compile xcode on my pc? I don't own a Mac, can I buy a used one or do I need a new one? (I told you stupid questions but hey someone has to ask - I've been programming for pc's and unix since 1978 so I've had plenty of time to learn stuff about apple but just never had the time)

Is it better to get a mac and develop for the iOS from mac in the first place?

Is there complete directions and a tutorial for an iOS sample from start to implementation?

You need a MAC to compile xcode.

There is a bunch of info here about what you need:

There is also a wealth of information from Apple about what to do once you have the xcode on your MAC.
All of this part is work you need to do outside of MMF.

Provision devices apply your certificates and compile your game.
Its a little confusing but everyone seems to get thru it in not too long a time.
