When to send score to GC leaderboard

Hi!

GC leaderboard is set up in iTunes connect and I have added a button in the game menu to display the leaderboard.
What I want to know is how/when to send the score.

Will this work?
- Player is authenticated
- Button is pressed
->Send score to server
->Display default leaderboard

The leaderboard says "no scores", even though I have put the ID in the 'category' part in the GC leaderboard object

The 'No Scores' thing can be remedied by creating multiple sandbox accounts and submitting scores as more than one user. There needs to be at least two users for the scores to show, if there's only one, it just says 'No Scores'.
