    Detect touch over joystick?

I am running a test for multiple touch detection, and I have noticed that if I tap over the joystick, that is not considered a touch. Why is that? I am trying to make something work as if you are holding down the joystick to a certain direction and the user taps an active (button), something happens yet it refuses to work. Interesting enough if I tap the active (button) and then control the character with the joystick it works, but it doesn't the other way around. I've looked into those multi touch examples, but they look into detection over an area, but if you have a scrolling screen, that area would change. Has anyone run into this problem? Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong or how I should go about this?

I have this issue too. A small workaround I found for it is to use the regular button object. This isn't the most ideal situation, but it works.

Edit, make the button a picture rather. Unfortunately it cannot be animated.

What do you mean by picture? You mean picture object? I just can't believe that the iOS exporter has this "flaw". I mean, there is no way to detect wether an object is overlapping the touch joystick or anything...there is got to be a way to do this.

Ah okay, yea it seems to work....I may need then to create a button per weapon instead of just changing the animation of the active (button). Thanks for the help xhedgehogx =)
