I tried it out and got it to work! Thanks! One question though, what do I need to change to make the player fall at normal speed if he releases the jump button after he has initiated the "jetpack"? Now he falls down at slow speed even though the fuel is empty or the player has released the button (this is if I dont release the button before the player is at its highest point). Thanks!

Actually after some more testing I still have not got it quite right! I notice that how much I even try to change the maximum Y velocity in event 4 the object still jump at the same height, the only difference is the speed in which it descends. Maybe there is some error in my events? I have uploaded example file with this!

Well done guys on solving this... I was just wondering if changing the movement on button release to a platformer with less gravity could be another solution to simulate are slowly descending parachute-esque player with jetpack...

If at all possible, can you post the example from Hempuli as it would help members learn how this is done if needed.
