Ran some windows 7 updates last night and now MMF2 crashes

    Weirdness right now.

I ran some windows updates and restarted my computer last night and now today I cannot use MMF2 Developer R254. It loads, opens and then after a few seconds windows closes it. It's pretty quick, but MMF2 seems to be working - I've managed to click the open button and seen the menus pop-up. I redownloaded the update, re-installed, but have had no luck. Anyone know what could be going on? Seems like a Windows thing to me. I'm using Win7 Ultimate x64 btw.

Looking through my windows updates and they all seem to be .Net framework patches and security updates

UPDATE: re-installed video cards - no luck. I have enough time to load MMF, click new project - see the frames appear in storyboard editor before it crashes/closes.

Use restore to before the updates, and check MMF.

    What anti-virus do you use?
Maybe it updated and incorrectly deleted some MMF2 components.

Did you do a restore before the update like Marv had mentioned. Did it help? I had some issue with MMF in W7 too,.so I now make all my games in XP and test them in 7.

Make sure you have updated your graphics card drivers. This is very important when working with 64bit.

That's odd. I'm running Windows 7 x64 and it's completely up to date with no MMF2 issues. When you were updating, did you by any chance choose to install an optional update? If so, what was it? I really doubt that would be the problem, but at this point, it's worth checking any possibility.

    Avast got issue with MMF.

Open Avast - Additional Protection - Auto Sandbox - Settings -> Disable AutoSandbox or Change it to Ask.

Yeah I'm going to second checking your AV. Windows updates shouldn't interfere, but AV can mess with things. Why that would be all of a sudden starting when you updated Windows is beyond me. Unless it was just coincidence that Avast updated itself at or near the same time.
