Use the platform movement object instead.

Corlen is correct. To create bouncing using the PMO is pretty easy. All you have to do is set the PMO action to Jump when you collide with the object you want to bounce on. Depending on what you're doing you may need to use hidden detectors for the collision detection. If you want to bounce left when you're jumping right and hit an obstacle you'll need to change the movement to be jumping and moving left.

This is a good tutorial on using the Platform Movement Object made by Chaos.

All you need to remember is using the jump condition in an action where you collide with the object you want to bounce on. So, instead of Player presses Space bar - player jumps you'd want to replace that with Player collides with Object - player jumps.

Actually, I want to make sure I understand you correctly. When you say bounces off of ceiling, do you mean a downward trajectory? If that's the case you'll probably want to add to the Y velocity to make them fall a bit faster.
