    active object question

    i want to make a tank and have a turret move independent of the tank so is it possible to lock two active objects together and move them seperate?

    Always set turret to position tank.

    And if you want to have more than one tank then you need to start using spread values and using them to attach the relevant turret to the appropriate tank.

    If you look in the tutorial on moving body parts using maths in the tutorials list then it has a good example and explanation on how this is useful.

    No, you don't.
    In most cases, that's inefficient and needlessly complicated.

    Oh, okay. Sorry. How *would* you do it then if you had several tanks with turrets (or equivalent), and how is the method I learned from that tutorial overly complicated?

    Not being aggressive - just eager to learn!

    See the link in my last post.
    Basically, you just store everything in the tank hull object's alterable values, and then have the turret object reference those - MMF2 pairs the objects automatically for you, which saves you needing to spread values or use any fastloops.

    thanks for the example but it doesnt work with my mmf2 for some reason i can view the editors but it doesnt run.

    Hang on - doesn't spread value put values in the alterable values so that you can reference them to each other? I think I've missed something in my understanding here....
