    Resizing Display

I have a suggestion about resizing for different displays: To make it easier to make our apps work for different sized displays, is there any way we can add these options to choose from for resizing the frame display?

    1) Stretch to Horizontal (stretch Horizontally to fit, and vertical the same % of stretch)
    2) Stretch to Veritcal (stretch Vertically to fit, and horizontally the same % of stretch)
    3) Stretch to fit (stretch Horiz+Vert to fit, possibly distorting the view)

In option 1 or 2, if the frame does not reach all edges of phone's display, the visible area of the frame should be expanded. This shouldn't happen, as the user should make his frame's ratio as big as the biggest device size his app will be used by. (In my case, 480x854 - so I could potentially make my app's frame 240*427 and use option 1)

    Example:

    screen size example.jpg

    [Full size]

In my case specifically, my frame is oriented as portrait. Its width is 480, height of 854. I have an action bar that goes across the top of the screen, and one on the bottom. On my 480*854 and 480*800 devices, this displays perfectly without resizing, and I can move the bottom bar to fit in the right place on the smaller screen. On my smaller devices, if I resize it I get black bars around the app, or distortion.

I want to be able to resize horizontally to fit different screen sizes, and vertically the same % of resize, that way I can fill the whole screen vertically regardless of screen size, without any distortion or black bars around my app.

Does that make sense? Is it doable?

This worked perfect until beta 18 and have not responded to because they delete it, I had more apps Retina resolution that was perfectly suited to my Galaxy SII (480 * 800) filling the entire screen.

It's perfect because you can do in a specific resolution and upscale or downscale according to the terminal which is used!

Great suggestion. This would be very useful.
I'd add checkbox "Do not resize when device display is bigger than max value" That option would leave black borders and keep all graphic sizes without any scaling.
