Sticking One Object to Another Object

Hey all. In my app menu system I have it so that some buttons get their Y position always set to a background, which moves in-and-out of frame to give a nice transition feel. However, it seems to me the buttons always look like they're behind where they should be when they move.

Does anyone have any solution to this?

Make sure the events that position the buttons are AFTER the events which move whatever they're attached to, otherwise they'll be one move behind in each loop
