DataGrid object limitations?

Is it just me, or the DataGrid object is very limited?
I thought I could get an Excel-like spreadsheet, but the number of cells seems to be very limited.
I need a 300 x 300 grid, but the maximum total of accepted cells is 3,200 (100 x 32 = 3,200 or 56 x 57 = 3,192 cells). Above that limit, the DataGrid resets and every inserted data is deleted, both in runtime and edit time. When I reopen in edit time the grid is reset to the default tiny 26 x 10 and all data is lost.
Anyone has the same problem? (Tested on MMF Dev build 253 both on Win7 and XP)

Perhaps you could use the Listview-Object. It has similar Functionality. But not sure if it provides all the Features you need but i would give it a try.
