    Sliding

    Hey guys.

Does anyone have any idea on how to maybe 'slide' an object across an icy surface? For example, I want to use the mouse to click and drag the object, then when I release it, it slides across the surface.

I know how to click and drag the object around, and I know how the sliding bit is done. Only problem I'm having trouble with is actually making the object slide in the direction I released it...

Appreciate anyone who knows how I could make this work...? I've attached an MFA file of a paddle and puck file that I was testing this on but I'm stumped and kinda going crazy now.

    Thanks in advance everyone.

Well the only data you really need to know to make this work is:
    A) How far the Mouse has traveled from its previous possition.
B ) The direction the mouse is traveling in ( in other words, the direction from its previous possition to its current position ).

The 'Advanced Direction Object' will make this easy for ya.

Then you simply tranfer that data over to the Moving Object by applying it to its movement.

Aah, I see how it's done. I'll admit, I wouldn't have figured this out and would have gave up! Thank you so much, King cool, you are a legend!

I'll be dissecting this bad boy and hopefully create something amazingly fun
